Mohamed Salah scored twice on his first Turkish Super Lig start for Trabzonspor as they secured victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 34-year-old Egypt international joined Trabzonspor on a free transfer this summer after bringing an end to his nine-year spell with Liverpool, where he scored 257 goals.
Salah had initially been expected to move to Saudi Arabia but instead signed a two-year contract with the Turkish club, reportedly worth £280,000 per week.
The match was Salah's third appearance for Trabzonspor.
He came off the bench against Kasimpasa last weekend before starting their Europa League play-off first-leg defeat by Ferencvaros.
Salah opened his Trabzonspor account after dispossessing Basaksehir goalkeeper Muhammed Sengezer before seeing his effort take a deflection and go in off the inside of the post.
Eldor Shomurodov equalised for the visitors from the penalty spot, but Salah soon restored Trabzonspor's advantage with a clinical first-time finish from around 10 yards.
The former Liverpool forward was booked for simulation after going down inside the penalty area with 11 minutes remaining.
Salah then appeared to complete his hat-trick deep into stoppage time with a spectacular finish into an empty net from 45 yards, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Despite being denied a memorable third, Salah's two goals ensured an impressive first Super Lig start as he begins the latest chapter of his career in Turkey.
