Aston Villa have completed the signing of highly-rated Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth £47 million.
The 18-year-old arrives at Villa Park following a breakthrough campaign with PSG, making 31 appearances across all competitions as the French giants won both the Champions League and Ligue 1.
Mbaye also enhanced his growing reputation on the international stage at the recent World Cup, featuring four times for Senegal.
The winger scored against France during the tournament, becoming the youngest African player to score at a men's World Cup.
Despite his age, Mbaye has already earned 15 senior caps for Senegal after making his PSG debut at just 16.
Villa confirmed Mbaye's permanent transfer on Tuesday, describing the Senegal international as a "bright and exciting young prospect".
Born in France, Mbaye represents another significant addition to Unai Emery's revamped squad following a summer of major change at Villa Park.
The Premier League club entered the transfer window on a high after winning the Europa League last season, ending a 30-year wait for a major trophy.
However, that success was followed by considerable upheaval within the squad.
Villa have since sold Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa as Emery oversees a significant rebuild.
Mbaye joins an extensive list of summer arrivals as Villa reshape their squad for the new campaign.
Emery has also brought in Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson.
Mbaye's arrival gives Villa another dynamic attacking option and continues the club's investment in young talent with significant potential.
After winning major honours with PSG and making World Cup history with Senegal, the 18-year-old will now look to establish himself in the Premier League as Villa begin a new era under Emery.
