Liverpool made a deadline-day move for Malo Gusto, Chelsea targeted Alex Scott and Martin Zubimendi, Manchester United youngster Chido Obi is seeking a loan switch, while Cody Gakpo held talks with Liverpool after a move to Manchester City was blocked.

Liverpool attempted to sign France right-back Malo Gusto, 23, on deadline day, but a deal failed to materialise after Chelsea insisted they would only consider a permanent transfer rather than a loan.

Chelsea made a late move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, 23, as they looked for a replacement for Enzo Fernandez. However, the Cherries had no interest in selling the former England Under-21 international this summer.

Arsenal rejected an approach from Chelsea for Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, 27, with the Gunners unwilling to entertain a potential transfer.

Al-Ittihad have joined fellow Saudi Pro League side Diriyah in exploring a move for Aston Villa and Jamaica winger Leon Bailey, 29.
