Olivia Holdt scored a hat-trick as Tottenham struck seven times in the second half to hand 10-player Crystal Palace their first defeat since returning to the Women’s Super League.
Making her first start of the season, Holdt produced a standout performance at Selhurst Park.
She opened her account with a close-range tap-in, fired her second into the roof of the net and completed her hat-trick with an excellent effort from outside the penalty area.
Palace faced an uphill battle after just seven minutes when Fuka Tsunoda received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Spurs forward Cathinka Tandberg.
Despite being reduced to 10 players, Palace - who had not conceded a league goal before the match - defended bravely and kept Tottenham out until half-time.
Goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin made several important saves, while the defence produced a number of last-ditch challenges.
However, Palace’s resistance was finally broken four minutes after the restart when Holdt scored the opening goal.
She completed her hat-trick 25 minutes later before being substituted, but Tottenham continued to dominate.
Victoria Pelova scored twice, while Shekiera Martinez and Amanda Nilden also found the net to complete the 7-0 victory.
Martin Ho’s side registered an incredible 42 shots, with 13 efforts on target.
The Tottenham manager said his half-time changes had helped transform the contest.
Holdt admitted Palace’s early red card initially made the challenge more difficult, as the hosts dropped into a deep defensive shape.
However, Spurs remained patient and continued creating chances before eventually overwhelming their opponents in the second half.
