Enrique’s Decree: PSG Repeats Its Move with Dembélé!

October 9

Following the conclusion of the international break, Paris Saint-Germain announced on Friday that Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes have been granted a few days of rest.

Spanish sources reported that Dembélé and Mendes will miss tomorrow's (Saturday) Ligue 1 match—led by manager Luis Enrique—against Le Mans at the Parc des Princes.

In a statement posted on X, Paris announced: "In coordination with Coach Enrique and the sporting management, Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes have been granted a rest period. They will resume training on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, respectively."

Both Dembélé and Nuno Mendes—key figures in Coach Luis Enrique’s squad—had accumulated physical fatigue during the international break.

The French forward played two full matches out of the four contested by the French national team, while participating for a total of 82 minutes across the other two games.

In contrast, the Portuguese full-back played three full matches for his national team, while being substituted in the 78th minute of the remaining game.

The decision to rest Dembélé marks the second time this season the Frenchman has been given a break; the first instance occurred in late August, when Luis Enrique and his coaching staff deemed it necessary following a grueling previous season that concluded with his participation in the World Cup with the French national team.
