Among the nominees for the award
Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain star, commented on the controversy surrounding the 2026 Ballon d'Or, for which he is among the nominees.
The list of 30 nominees for the award includes 10 players from a single club: Paris Saint-Germain.
After being shortlisted among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d'Or, as he was last season, Achraf Hakimi's biggest hope is to see a Paris Saint-Germain player win the award, a year after Ousmane Dembélé's triumph (Hakimi finished sixth).
In an interview with a television network following PSG's 4-2 victory over Manchester City last night, the Moroccan international admitted he hopes to win the prestigious individual award, but doesn't want to make it an obsession.
He said: "I hope that one of the Paris Saint-Germain players will be able to bring this award to Paris, and that we can celebrate it with the fans and the team."
