The Italian goalkeeper had a bad night against his former team.

Former Moroccan national team captain Mehdi Benatia, former Juventus and Bayern Munich star, criticized the performance of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in Manchester City's match against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday in the Champions League.

PSG finished the first half of the match, played at the Etihad Stadium, with a 3-0 lead, before Manchester City scored two goals in the second half. The match ended with a 4-2 victory for the French team.

While Manchester City were attempting a comeback after the score became 3-1, Magnus Akliuch sealed the victory with a fourth goal, capitalizing on a poor clearance by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Mehdi Benatia, the former sporting director of Olympique Marseille, was outraged by the error and strongly criticized Donnarumma.

He added, as reported by a French network: "In matches like these, we usually talk about the first 15 minutes. Here, they conceded two goals in 15 minutes, so it's clear he's responsible for the first goal, and he could have done better."

He continued: "Then, when Manchester City improved and started to get back into the game, he was responsible for a second goal... so, the whole match was a disaster."

It's worth noting that Donnarumma joined Manchester City two summers ago from Paris Saint-Germain.
