Arsenal Fear Bukayo Saka Injury Blow After Thrilling Champions League Draw With Bayern Munich

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted the club are concerned about Bukayo Saka's injury after the winger was forced off during Wednesday's dramatic 2-2 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich.

Saka, who is Arsenal's joint-leading goalscorer this season alongside Viktor Gyokeres, suffered an apparent thigh injury early in the match and was replaced by Eberechi Eze.

The substitute made an immediate impact, scoring Arsenal's opening goal before Declan Rice struck late to secure a valuable point for last season's Champions League runners-up.

Bayern had taken control through an Alphonso Davies goal and a Harry Kane penalty, but Arsenal fought back to earn a hard-fought draw in Munich.

Arteta Concerned Over Saka Injury

Speaking after the match, Arteta acknowledged uncertainty surrounding Saka's condition, revealing that Arsenal's medical staff were worried about the severity of the injury.

"They are a bit concerned about Saka. When a player has to come off with sharp pain it is never good news. We have to wait and see," Arteta said.

The extent of the injury remains unclear, with Arsenal awaiting further assessment of the England international.

Despite the setback, Arteta praised his team's resilience and attacking performance against one of Europe's strongest sides.

"Bayern batter every team, so I really value what the boys did tonight," he said.

"That's one of the highest levels we have played... The level of opposition and our level as well. It was two teams that wanted to attack and play."

Rice Delighted With Crucial Equaliser

Rice expressed his satisfaction after scoring the late equaliser, highlighting the tactical discipline and movement required to break through Bayern's aggressive man-marking system.

"I'm so happy. When you play against teams like Bayern that are man-to-man all over the pitch, you have to apply certain principles," Rice told TNT.

"I just kept running, lost my marker and I was in on goal to score."

The result demonstrated Arsenal's ability to compete with Europe's elite, although concerns over Saka's fitness could overshadow an otherwise impressive performance.

With the winger playing a crucial role in Arsenal's attacking ambitions, Arteta will be hoping the injury does not result in an extended absence.
