The Catalan club is banking on the appeal of its sporting project.
Paris Saint-Germain has entered the race to sign Manchester United talent JJ Gabriel, having initiated talks with the representatives of the player—who recently turned sixteen. Meanwhile, Real Madrid is also intensifying its efforts to secure his services, further complicating Barcelona’s task of finalizing the deal.
According to Catalan media, both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are making progress in their discussions with the player’s camp.
The Parisian club is looking to capitalize on the uncertainty surrounding Gabriel’s future at Old Trafford by presenting an attractive sporting project and a compelling financial offer, while Real Madrid is also working to strengthen its own position in the race.
Barcelona holds a significant advantage in this contest: the player’s personal preference. Gabriel feels a particular affinity for the Catalan club and its style of play, and he is drawn to a project that offers young talents opportunities to develop. Nevertheless, this preference does not guarantee a move to the *Blaugrana*.
Financial considerations remain a decisive factor. Although Barcelona recognizes the immense potential of the young forward, the club is unwilling to engage in a bidding war or pay an exorbitant fee for a player who has yet to make an official appearance for Manchester United’s first team. Barça insists that any deal must align with its established economic and sporting criteria.
Meanwhile, Manchester United retains the rights to the player and has not abandoned efforts to resolve his situation.
Reports indicate that Barcelona faces mounting competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid—both of which could drive up the cost of the deal—while the Catalan club continues to bank on the appeal of its sporting project.
