Ouattara Earns Brentford Draw at Hull

Hull City recorded a third consecutive Premier League home draw as Brentford fought back to secure a 1-1 result.

Oli McBurnie put the Tigers ahead from the penalty spot in the first half after Aaron Hickey brought down Tim Iroegbunam following a defensive mix-up as Brentford tried to play out from the back.

The visitors responded with sustained pressure and deservedly equalised in the 63rd minute, when Dango Ouattara capitalised on hesitant defending to finish from close range.

Hull regained momentum after conceding and created the better chances to win the match.

Mohamed Belloumi worked space inside the penalty area with some neat footwork but fired into the side-netting, while Caoimhin Kelleher used his foot to keep out a low effort from Mohamed-Ali Cho.

Neither side could find a winner, leaving Hull unbeaten at home and Brentford undefeated away this season.

The result puts the Bees sixth in the table, with Hull in 10th place.

Hull Improve but Wait for Victory Continues

Hull delivered a much stronger performance than in their previous defeat at Fulham, where they failed to register a shot on target and completed only 139 passes.

Against a Brentford side enjoying an impressive start to the campaign, the Tigers were competitive and created enough opportunities to take all three points.

Alongside the chances for Belloumi and Cho, Joe Gelhardt wasted a late opening when he shot wide after being found by an inviting cross in the centre of the box.

The improved display offers encouragement, although Hull’s winless league run now stands at six matches.

Having won their opening two games on their return to the Premier League, they need to rediscover that winning touch to avoid slipping towards the lower end of the table.

Brentford Still Searching for Away Breakthrough

Brentford’s solid start continues, with impressive home victories over Tottenham and Chelsea complemented by an unbeaten away record.

The Bees sit just four points outside the top four, but all four of their league trips have ended in draws.

This was also the first match this season in which Brentford had not taken the lead, forcing them to recover after McBurnie’s penalty.

They managed 14 attempts, yet rarely seriously tested Konstantinos Tzolakis in the Hull goal.

Ouattara’s equaliser ensured they left with a point, although the visitors may view this as another opportunity missed in their search for a first away league victory.
