Covering for Kvaratskhelia’s Injury
Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli has emerged as a target for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The French club is considering signing the Moroccan international to cover for the long-term absence of Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is sidelined due to injury. Such a deal could net Barcelona approximately €11 million.
According to Spanish media, Ezzalzouli is one of the options being weighed by the French side to bolster their attack during the winter transfer window, following Kvaratskhelia’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his right knee—an injury that will keep him out of action for the remainder of the season.
While PSG is interested in the Moroccan winger, the club is carefully evaluating its options, given the potentially high cost of the transfer. Meanwhile, Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation, as they retain a 20% sell-on clause for the player.
Real Betis Sets €55 Million Price Tag
Real Betis appears unwilling to part with Ezzalzouli easily; during the last summer transfer window, the club set a €55 million price tag for his departure—a figure close to his release clause, which stands at approximately €60 million.
Ezzalzouli moved from Barcelona to Real Betis in September 2023 for €7.5 million, with the Catalan club securing a 20% share of any future transfer fee.
Should a deal be finalized at €55 million, Barcelona would receive roughly €11 million, making the Moroccan winger’s future a matter of significant interest for the Catalan club. Aston Villa and Newcastle
Paris Saint-Germain was not the only club interested in Ezzalzouli; Aston Villa and Newcastle United also monitored him during the last summer transfer window and explored the possibility of signing him. However, he chose to remain with Real Betis, where he has become an important player in manager Manuel Pellegrini’s plans.
This interest followed a strong season for the player, during which he recorded 15 goals and 13 assists in 43 matches. He has since begun the 2026-2027 season by scoring three goals in 7 La Liga appearances, in addition to one goal in two Champions League matches.
